The Table – existentialist cardboard puppet theatre

We went to see The Table last night, which was unexpected and funny, sometimes very funny. I think there was quite a bit of ad libbing going on, and those were the best bits. The three people operating Moses (as the cardboard and curtain material puppet was called) were very in tune with each other. Three people improvising puppetry is pretty impressive.

There was also two more pieces, of which I preferred the last one. This was a story told in simple line drawings on sheets of white paper that were being pulled out of a briefcase by the full troupe of four, in intricate and very expressive ways. Also very funny.
