Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera – in Chichester, of all places

I escaped the heat and bustle in Brighton to Chichester on Sunday. Garth had got wind of an exhibition of some of Frida Kahlo’s and Diego Rivera’s best work that is only going to be shown there.

It was conspicuously peaceful, clean and well-to-do, and a nice break from the hectic Brighton weekend. The show was surprisingly comprehensive, for a small place like that. Nice museum.

We had a pleasant lunch in the pleasant gardens of the Cloister. After that, we wandered off to Fishbourne, and the Roman mosaics there. Got there just as they were closing, but the nice lady gave us half and hour when I pleaded with her. Some photos below.

Tired in the evening. I shouldn’t complain (and won’t), but the heat and the very short company really takes it out of me.
