A sunny Easter Monday in Sussex, and Bonobo in London

The day was too lovely to stay in and do what needs to be done. They say the weather is due to change mid-week, so it seemed wiser to go out and enjoy it. Harry and I drove to East Dean and had lunch at the Tiger Inn, then a tour through verdant countryside; Birling Gap, Friston Forest (saw the chalk horse up on the hillside), and Wilmington (saw the Long Man, too). Gorgeous day.

The evening brought an impromptu decision to go and see Bonobo in London. They were good, but I think the balance is slightly better on their recordings, particularly Black Sands. There is something delicate about the solo contributions there, which didn’t come across as well live. But a good concert nevertheless, and a pretty full house.
