The Cloud Appreciation Society at the Idler Academy

We went to an interesting lecture about cloud appreciation at the Idler Academy, in West London. Nice venue (though the talk had been relocated to a church hall nearby to allow for more seats), and a comfortable atmosphere. A pleasant chat to the proprietor, Tom Hodgkinson, revealed that they have only been open at this location for a short while. I would recommend a visit.

The talk featured amazing photos and information about clouds, and the Cloud Appreciation Society has in its manifesto a call to fight blue sky thinking, while ensuring one always has one’s head in the clouds. Charming, on the whole. As I could identify a cirrus cloud, I was one of the lucky recipients of a cloud appreciation badge.

Today several things I have been concerned about loosened up, and it is full steam ahead. I am not entirely sure how I am going to get everything done, but it would seem churlish to say no to good developments, even if the logistics of getting everything done are somewhat daunting.

I guess the only direction is “furthur”.
