There is a lot to be grateful for

Sunshine, for example. And the good health to enjoy it. It seems to be the rule, rather than the exception, that we overlook that until it is challenged. One of my collegues have had a whole string of family illnesses to deal with, and others seem to be touched too.

Meanwhile, I look in at two really rather lovely children, asleep in their beds. And all is well on our little perch in the world. Not that it can ever be taken for granted. But we can have the grace to enjoy what is good and beautiful while we can.

I guess I do sometimes take things for granted, though I have often felt somewhat over-aware of the uncertainties in life. It is a kind of truism that one shouldn’t – but daily life gets a little highly strung without it.
