Culturomics

A new term I hadn’t heard before. Mentioned in connection with a quantitative study of culture through analysing 4% of all the books ever printed (in the English language, one would presume – this is a somewhat ethnocentric study, by the looks of it).

The purpose is to get a picture of the trends and concepts making the rounds through time.
