Banquet at the Royal Pavillion

Well, that was an odd one! Great to have the opportunity to hang out in the banqueting hall, and the red dining room was indeed cosy and pretty. Food was good too.

The guests were quite random, though. From an older gentleman in a fez, doing a Tommy Cooper impression most of the evening, to two parties who were raucous in that bullish manner that tends to grate after a while.

The table we ended up at was the softly spoken sarcasm table – with a handful of waifs and strays (two of them the musicians for the evening), and some entertaining moments.

I still love the chandelier in the banqueting hall, and the music room. And I still want to loll about on the carpet in the middle of it. I guess I have to wait for that opportunity.
