White Night 2010

White Night was very busy, but great fun. Interesting talks, fun projections on the Steine, open-air entertainment, and indoors things (to which there were quite long queues a lot of the time). But most of all, just the sense of life and vibrancy with all the people milling about. I do love that.

The crowds included less arty elements this year, and I can see that that needs to be dealt with. They were boozy and rowdy in a way that wasn’t exactly fun, and probably need some form of larger-scale, outdoors place to go (Preston Park?) with music that makes them bounce up and down in time.

The morning chorus at the band stand was late, but instead there was a jazz trio who entertained the die-hards who were there. Lovely.
