Resonance or mirroring?

Hm. My personal experience suggests that engagement (in projects, audiences, communication, play, etc.) follows the “give to get” principle. I.e. in order to get engagement from others, you need to give it yourself. For example by investing energy, attention or willingness.

I just read an article on the New Scientist web site that suggests that engagement of a terrorist nature is communicated in similar ways: How to catch the “jihadi bug”.
