Digital approaches to mortality

This article in the New Scientist, Immortal avatars: Back up your brain, never die is interesting, both in terms of advances made and ‘successes’ that are probably going to remain elusive for quite some time.

It also mentions the ‘uncanny valley’ phenomenon that plagues designers who try to go lifelike in order to convince, rather than using a more symbolic or expressive way of representing the essence of a person.

At the bottom is a list of quirky, and possibly useful services to the mortal.
